Cleaner and Disinfectant Compatibility Testing

Test Methodology

Expose the Device

We distill the device manufactures reprocessing instructions down to the critical steps related to how a chemical cleaner/disinfectant is applied to a device. This process is repeated for the number of times specified by the device manufacturer, which is normally a conservative estimation of the number of times the device is expected to be used throughout its serviceable life.

Observe Minimum Contact Time

A timer is used to ensure the device remains wet for the contact time indicated on the cleasner/disinfectants labeling.

Visual Inspection and Microscope Images

Prior to each cleaning/disinfection cycle the device is inspected for evidence that it has become unsafe. All changes observed from the test conductor are recorded and testing may cease if an issue is found. Additionally we monitor areas of the device that may be a concern by taking close up pictures with a microscope camera.
